This has nothing to do with Spain, per se, but a huge part of traveling is being homesick. I don't miss Seattle so much just yet (despite hearing from my mother that yesterday was 91 degrees in Seattle, while it was chilly here), but I do miss my family. In order to travel for such a generous amount of time, I'm making certain sacrifices like missing out on important summer traditions and family events. Luckily my father thought to include me as best he could in our family berry picking tradition. I literally laughed out loud when I opened the email and I want to share this photo with everyone in hopes that you all will remember that growing up doesn't mean giving up fun and there's no such thing as a silly tradition, they all count! Here you have Dad (clearly adult) and Else (20 years old this July, no longer a kid or a teen!) competing in the very serious Soelling Family Annual Blueberry Picking Chubby-Bunny Competition. This gets heated, don't be fooled, we're serious competitors.

I hope the smiles continue to spread!
P.S. Else's face could pass as an approximation of what my face looked like following my wisdom teeth extraction. No joke.
